Bujinkan training is base on many various unarmed skills, which then apply to all the weapons learned within the Bujinkan.
Some of the many forms of unarmed skills a student will learn are:
- Kamae ~ body postures
- Taihenjutsu ~ body movement
- Dakentaijutsu ~ punching and kicking skills
- Ukemi ~ rolling and falling skills
- Jutaijutsu ~ grappling skills
- Mokuso ~ energy awareness, and meditation
